 Mick Hallissey of Blackrock FC was a leading light from schoolboys to adult levels for many years

Mick started out his outstanding football career with Blackrock FC winning the Under 14 Schoolboy’s Cup in 1962 and followed on in his inaugural year claiming a Schoolboy’s International Cap against England.

The upcoming star player progressed to captain the Blackrock Murphy Minor Cup winning team against Southed United in 1964. On the Southend team was the late Willie Henchion, who passed away after a period on trial with West Ham Utd.

Mick Hallissey was also part of the most successful year in Blackrock history, when the club won the A.U.L. 1 st Division League and Shield; Top Four and Munster Junior Cup, won V The Villa of Waterford, 2 – 1 played at Flower Lodge.

Blackrock Online now incorporate Mick Hallissey as one of our renowned “People of Distinction” in our Blackrock Online Soccer category.
